Activated for a Different Computer Status Message in NI License Manager

Issue Details

I activated my software using an Activation Code or a Disconnected License and the Activation Wizard does not return an error, but the status of my software in NI License Manager is Activated for a different computer, and when I launch my software it is not activated.
 

Solution

This Status message appears when a wrong Computer ID is used to generate an activation code in www.ni.com/activate  or disconnected license in NI VLM. To solve this problem:
  1. Find your Computer ID.

If you are generating an activation code:
  1. Go to www.ni.com/activate and generate the code again making sure the Computer ID matches the one obtained in step 1.
  2. Activate your software using the correct activation code.

If you are installing a disconnected license file provided by your Software Administrator.
  1. Refer to Red Exclamation Point for Disconnected License in NI License Manager and contact your software administrators to correct your Computer ID in NI VLM and generate a new disconnected license file.
  2. Install the new disconnected license file.

If this steps don't solve the problem, contact NI Support.

Additional Information

This issue will also arise in a previously successful activation code based activation if the Computer ID changes. If this is your case, refer to Why Does My Computer ID Keep Changing? for details.
