Tools Palette Stuck in LabVIEW

Issue Details

I had the tools palette open in LabVIEW but now it's stuck in the corner of the screen. I can't seem to move it or close it. How can I fix this?

Solution

Sometimes the tools palette can be stuck in a default position due to a line of code containing the term toolPaletteLock in the LabVIEW configuration file. The configuration file can be found at C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 20XX\LabVIEW.ini. If this line of code is deleted from the configuration file and LabVIEW is restarted with the new edited configuration file, the tools palette should be movable.

Alternately, you can delete the configuration file and restart LabVIEW. When LabVIEW reopens, it will automatically regenerate the configuration file without this line.
