Issue Details

How do I use AUX I/O Connector NI 5782 Adapter Module as a DIO lines in LabView?

Solution

  • Expand IO Module section in LabView project tree. It should be within FPGA Target section.
  • You'll could find Nodes associated with AUX IO DIO lines.
  • You can use this nodes just by dragging-and-dropping it to FPGA VI.
Note: If you want to use any of DIO lines as an output you should set Write Enable (WE) property to TRUE before write any data to it. You should use dedicated node to set WE property.

Additional Information

There is two types of DIO lines presented on NI-5782 FAM.
  • PFI - single bidirectional line. State of PFI line is represented by single boolean value.
  • DIO Port - 4 digital lines combined together. Port is represented by U8 number, where first 4 bits represents sate of  whole DIO port.
Use NI 5782 AUX Connector Pin Assignments table from NI 5782R User Manual and Specifications to establish correct physical connections.
