Issue Details

I am trying to use the NI-IMAQdx VIs to acquire images from my camera. When I try to place an IMAQdx VI on my block diagram, I get a broken Run Arrow. Clicking it to open the Error List shows the error: Library that contains the VI or item is not properly licensed.

  • In most cases, this error indicates that your license for IMAQdx is not activated. If you have purchased a license for Vision Acquisition Software, you can use your serial number to activate IMAQdx in NI License Manager.
  • If you have verified that IMAQdx is activated in NI License Manager, try upgrading to the newest version of Vision Acquisition Software that is compatible with your LabVIEW version. You can verify compatibility in the Readme for the each version of Vision Acquisition Software.
  • An additional step to follow if the software shows up as licensed but you're still getting the issue is to reinstall Vision Acquisition Software.

Additional Information

If you recently installed Vision Acquisition Software and did not activate it using a valid serial number, then it will run correctly during the 30-day evaluation period. Once the evaluation period has expired, you will see this error and will need to activate the license.

NI-IMAQdx installs with NI Vision Acquisition Software. It is a licensed driver and requires a purchased license for each computer that is going to run programs that call IMAQdx functions.
