How To Update a Disconnected License to Activate The Latest Version of NI Software

  • Volume License Manager

I have a user or a computer on my licensing server that uses a disconnected license and I would like to update it so that I can then activate a newer version of the software on the machine.

In order to perform this, you need to:
  1. Reconnect the older disconnected license, so you will have that seat available again. Follow this link to find out how to do this Reconnecting Disconnected Users or Computers.
  2. Add the permissions to the user or computer.
  3. Make sure that you can see the newer version of the software in Volume License Manager, as the disconnected license will take the information from there. 
  4. Generate a new disconnected license  for the user or the computer.
