Why I Get NI Scan Engine Is Not Running Error When Deploying My Application?

Issue Details

When I try to run a VI locally in my computer that includes a Shared Variable, I get the following error:

The NI Scan Engine is not running. Please verify that the project is configured to start the scan engine on deploy operations. Also, make sure that LabVIEW and all associated I/O drivers are properly installed. 

Solution

Check that the NI Services related with the variables are properly running. To verify the status of the services, go to Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services.

 


NI PSP Service Locator and NI Variable Engine should be running. If they are not, start the services by selecting them and clicking Start on the top left of the Services Window.
