Text.ScrollPos Property When Used in a Tab Control Does Not Execute If the User Is on a Different Tab

Updated Jun 28, 2018

Issue Details

In LabVIEW 7.1, when using the Text.ScrollPos property on a text box in a tab control, if the user is on a different tab so the text box is hidden, the Text.ScrollPos property will not execute. How can I resolve this issue?

Solution

There are 2 recommended ways to fix this behavior.
  1. Upgrade to LabVIEW 2014 or later where the Text.ScrollPos property will execute when the user is not on the tab with the text box
  2. If you need to stay with LabVIEW 7.1, have an event or add a case that executes with a value change of the tab control. Include the Text.ScrollPos property in this event/case. This will ensure that it executes when the user switches to the tab with the text box.
