Remote Panel Protocol Version Incompatible

Issue Details

I recently upgraded the software on my PC or embedded target and now my remote front panel doesn't work. When I try to open the remote front panel, I get the message "Remote panel protocol version incompatible".
I recompiled the front panel and LabVIEW project, what else can I try?

Solution

  • Regenerate the html page with the web publishing tool and rebuild the application
  • On the system that is displaying the error, perform a software repair in NI Package Manager for the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine version, not the LabVIEW Programming Environment, that matches the version of LabVIEW the remote panel was built with: Repair Software In NI Package Manager (NIPM)
  • Ensure that the versions of LabVIEW on the host PC and Real-Time target are the same. Also ensure that the host PC has the same version of LabVIEW Run-Time Engine.
  • Change the name of the front panel HTML file
  • Build a new HTML file on the same project following the procedure described on the link in Related Links section. 
  • Move the VIs to a new project
