Issue Details

I have code that was migrated from LabVIEW 2012, to LabVIEW 2014, to LabVIEW 2016. In LabVIEW 2012 and LabVIEW 2014, I was able to see the 3rd party, 64-bit codecs that I had installed. When I upgraded the code to LabVIEW 2016, I was no longer able to see that 3rd party, 64-bit codec. I also have a 32-bit version of the codec, and LabVIEW 2016 32-bit can see it, but LabVIEW 2016 64-bit cannot. What is going on?

Solution

Ensure that your 64-bit codec is compatible with your operating system. Acodec that was compatible with Windows 7, may not be compatible with Windows 10. LabVIEW populates the list of codecs from the OS list, so if the OS does not see the codec, then LabVIEW won't either. You should also try reinstalling the 3rd party codec.
