Issue Details

I am using an NI USB DAQ device for my data acquisition application. This has been identified correctly in NI Measurement and Automation Explorer until recently but now in the place of my device I have a series identifier:
USB 6XXX "USB\VID_3923 "USB\VID_3923&PIDXXXX\XXXXXXX"

How can I allow my device to be recognised correctly again?

I am using an NI USB DAQ device for my data acquisition application that is been identified incorrectly in NI Measurement and Automation Explorer

Solution

To fix this issue follow these steps:
  1. With your device plugged in, locate your device in Windows Device Manager and delete the driver session
  2. Unplug your device from the USB drive
  3. Plug your device back into the USB drive. This will create a new driver session for your device with the correct identifier
  4. Restart your computer
  5. Check your device is recognized correctly in NI MAX
  6. If your device still doesn't show correctly the MAX Database may be corrupted. After backing up any configuration of custom scales or tasks in MAX, try resetting the MAX database to see if the modules are recognized correctly.
