Cannot Copy Objects From a VI to Another VI in LabVIEW

Issue Details

I want to copy objects from a VI to another VI, but when I try to copy and paste in the new VI a dashed rectangle appears around the object and it won't let me select the object's properties.

How can I copy the items without the rectangle showing up?

Solution

First verify if the LabVIEW versions are compatible, if so:
1. Close everything related to LabVIEW (VIs, Projects, etc).
2. Then open LabVIEW and respectives VIs again.
3. Lastly, Copy and Paste the items from one VI to the other one.
 

Additional Information

This issue may be caused due to two instance of LabVIEW being open.
Each instance of LabVIEW has its own internal clipboard and if you copy from one instance of LabVIEW to another, the Windows clipboard is used and you only get a picture.
