Issue Details

I am using the NI PXIe-6738 card to supply voltage signals to my DUT. This card has one ground reference pin per two analog output pins. Are all these ground references shorted ?

Solution

  • As mentioned in the card's documentation, when AO GND is listed next to an analog signal name, it is the dedicated ground reference for the listed signals (for example, AO GND 2/3 is the ground reference for AO 2 and AO 3).
  • However, all ground references including D GND are connected by small traces on the device to reduce crosstalk between subsystems. Meaning that each ground may have a slight difference in potential.
