Invalid Serial Number When Generating a Calibration Certificate

Issue Details

I am trying to generate a calibration certificate for a customer with the Instrument Certificate Generator, but a dialog says that the serial number is invalid. I verified that the purchase was made and the serial number is valid for NI hardware. What do I do?

Solution

  1. Verify that you are using the correct serial number by reading the section Hardware Customers  in the article Finding the Serial Number of My National Instruments Product
  2. If you got the serial number from NI MAX and your serial number starts with a zero, try removing the first zero. NI MAX will sometimes put a zero at the beginning of a serial number as a placeholder, but it is not actually part of the serial number.
