Difference Between Sound and Vibration Toolkit and Measurement Suite

Updated Dec 20, 2018

Reported In

Software

  • LabVIEW Sound and Vibration Toolkit
  • LabVIEW

Issue Details

  • I want to use the Sound and Vibration Analysis Software from National Instruments, but I don't know what the difference is between the Toolkit and the Measurement Suite.
  • I can't see the Tachometer Processing VI's in the Sound and Vibration pallet in LabVIEW.

Solution

  • The Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite (now call Full Version) is a comprehensive collection of NI analysis and signal processing tools for noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH); machine condition monitoring; and audio test applications.
  • The Sound and Vibration toolkit (now called Base Version) is a smaller subset of the Suite and does not contain all the functions that the Full version includes.

You can find a complete and up to date feature comparison of Base (formerly called Toolkit) versus Full (formerly called Measurement Suite) here: Sound and Vibration Software Overview and Feature Comparison

Additional Information

This document gives a full overview of the National Instruments' solution: Sound and Vibration Analysis Software. It also includes a chart comparing the feature list of the Toolkit vs. the Measurement Suite.
