Issue Details

I am using LabVIEW 2015. When I open a file from my network drive, and then save to my network drive, I receive LabVIEW file permission error, save error 44.

Then, I bypass a Windows save dialog box. When I try to open the file again, I receive this error and cannot open the corrupted file.

Solution

This is known behavior with LabVIEW 2015 SP1 and earlier versions. This behavior was addressed in the release of LabVIEW 2017. See the LabVIEW 2017 Bug Fix list for CAR 597858.
  • One workaround for this behavior is to use LabVIEW 2017 or later.
  • If that is not possible, another workaround for this behavior is to save the file locally between the network steps.
    • For example, save the network file to your local machine, make necessary edits, and then save to the network again. This should allow you to bypass the Save Error 44.
