Issue Details

I am using LabVIEW 2015 or younger. When I open a file from my network drive, and then save it to my network drive, I receive LabVIEW file permission error, save error 44.

Then, I bypass a Windows save dialog box. When I try to open the file again, I receive this error and cannot open the corrupted file.

Solution

This is known behavior between LabVIEW versions prior to 2015 SP1 f10 and Windows 10. The issue is documented under issue number 597858 and is fixed in the following versions It is recommended to upgrade to one of these versions to fix the issue.

If that is not possible, a workaround for this behavior is to save the file locally between the network steps.
For example, save the network file to your local machine, make necessary edits, and then save to the network again. This should allow you to bypass the Save Error 44.
