Solution
As explained in
Logging Data with NI Citadel, you can write to your database by using shared variables, a DataSet Marking I/O Server, or the Citadel Writing API, all included with the DSC Module. In order to work with custom timestamps to enter historical data, you should use the Citadel Writing API.
LabVIEW ships with an example of how to do this. Navigate to

Database Direct Write Demo.lvproj, which demonstrates how to write to a Citadel trace.
