Issue Details

I am trying to set up a software trigger for a remote system, which is to be controlled via a user interface on my host system. How can I implement this in LabVIEW?

Solution

Yes you can use a network published shared network variable to send a boolean value through your network, that can then be used as a software trigger for your remote system.

Additional Information

For information on how to create a shared variable please see:
How to Set Up Shared Variables in LabVIEW to Communicate Between Two PCs
For information on how to use a shared variable see:

Please note, that a software trigger will not be determinstic, so should not be use for applications with tight response and synchronisation requirements.
