Issue Details

What is the readback (or internal device route) feature of the NI Data Acquisition(DAQ) hardware?

Solution

The Readback or internal device route feature enables you to read the analog output channels of your DAQ hardware as analog input channels. To do so, you need to expose the internal terminals on the DAQmx Physical Channel control or constant. Perform the following to expose the internal terminals:

1. Right click on your DAQmx Physical Channel control or constant, and select I/O Name Filtering....

2. Select the Internal Terminals checkbox and click OK.

3. You should now be able to see the _ao0_vs_aognd terminal, which will give you the measurement of analog output 0 versus analog output ground. This _ao0_vs_aognd terminal is similiar to any other analog inputs tasks from the same board.
