Issue Details

I have a TestStand sequence that, among other things, is calling a LabVIEW VI that is logging CAN frames from the Device Under Test (DUT).

When I set the CAN step to launch in a new thread, the resulting data I get from the VI is missing frames.

Solution

It is likely that, by creating a new thread, the CPU is being over utilized. Monitor the CPU usage with the task manager to verify this. If the CPU usage reaches 100%, you will have exceeded the processing capability of the system. Thus confirming that this behavior is due to a system limitation.

Additional Information

You can increase system processing power by upgrading to a new controller.
