Warning 200011 in DAQ Assistant Dialog with LabVIEW Real-Time and SCXI

Updated May 30, 2018

Issue Details

I am using the DAQ Assistant on a LabVIEW Real-Time target with SCXI. I have 32 channels all being sampled at 10 KS/s which is within the maximum rate for SCXI (333 KS/s divided by 32 channels is ~10.4KS/s).

When I am in the DAQ Assistant Dialog, I receive warning 200011 which states:

Warning 200011 occurred at DAQmx Start Task.vi
Clock rate specified is so high that it violates the settling time requirements for the acquisition.
Reduce the clock rate, or the accuracy of the measurement might be compromised.

I do not receive this error in the LabVIEW code itself, what is going on?

Solution

The DAQ Assistant Dialog creates extra overhead which is why you see this warning. The warning only applies to using the DAQ Assistant Dialog and shouldn't effect your actual code. This warning has been removed in NI-DAQmx 8.5 along with other bug fixes, so it would be wise to upgrade NI-DAQmx.

The best advice however would be to not use the DAQ Assistant with LabVIEW Real-Time. Instead, use the explicit NI-DAQmx VIs located on the Measurement I/O ยป NI-DAQmx palette. These VIs have much less overhead than the DAQ Assistant.
