Issue Details

I would like to know if I can use my NI-9205 analog voltage input module to acquire a temperature reading coming from my RTD.

Solution

If you provide the excitation needed for the resistance temperature detector (RTD), it will generate a voltage on the output terminals of the RTD, this can be measured by the module, all you have to check is the range you set for the measurement and the range the RTD can give you. However, you will need to know the characteristic equation for the RTD in order to create your own scale or do the calculation to convert the voltage to temperature depending on the RTD's behavior.
