Issue Details

I am running a Real-Time motion application on my CompactRIO-9024 (cRIO) along with a 9514 Motor Drive Interface module. I am calling a subVI that uses SoftMotion Express VIs, such as the Contour Express VI. As soon as the subVI is called, my cRIO disconnects. I receive no errors. Why is this happening?

Solution

Make sure that you are providing proper inputs to the SoftMotion Express VI. If you supply an empty array, you may experience unexpected behavior.

If you are supplying proper parameters to the Express VI, it would be a good idea to monitor system resources. CompactRIOs may crash or disconnect if CPU hits 100%, or if it hits the memory limit.
