License Expired Message After Reimaging Computer With New Hard Drive Disks

Issue Details

I had to reimage my computer because my hard drives failed. After the reimaging I get a message saying that the License has expired when I try to run the software.


  • If the computer is connected to the internet, use the Serial Number to activate the software, as you would usually do.
  • If that computer does not have internet access, you can generate your own activation codes by going to the activation page: NI Product Activation
  • Contact Support and new activation codes can be generated for you.


Additional Information

This behavior is due to a change in the computer ID, because it might have been generated using the HDD volume serial number, and when the hard drive was replaced, the ID changed and uses the new volume's serial number.
