Issue Details

I do not see my EtherCAT slave devices in my LabVIEW project with the Single-Board RIO (sbRIO) 9651 (also known as the System on Module, or the SOM). Why is this happening?

Solution

To recognize EtherCAT slaves with the SOM, you must have an FPGA bitfile running (this can be a blank VI). You can do this with the sbRIO CLIP Generator. This is because the Ethernet 1 port is a user-defined FPGA signal.
