I have an NI-9244 device connected to a three-phase transformer but it is not measuring right. I created a task in NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) and it measures no more than 400 V but my third-party Power Meter measures 480 V RMS. Is the device broken? Is the device scaling the readings?
The Power Meter has three terminals, each connected to a voltage line.
The device does not apply any scaling to the signal unless you program a custom scale. The reason why the readings from the third-party instrument and NI-9244 are different is because the Power Meter may be retrieving the line-to-line voltage while NI-9244 retrieves line-to-neutral measurements.
In the White Paper Calculating Line-to-Line Voltages from Line-to-Neutral Measurements with the NI-9225 you will found information that explains how to calculate the line-to-line voltage from line-to-neutral measurements.
