Issue Details

I'm trying to create a model for NI VeriStaind using LabVIEW Development System based on Creating Models in NI LabVIEW for Use in NI VeriStand tutorial, but I can't build a model from my VI because LabVIEW doesn't have NI VeriStand » Generate NI VeriStand Model from VI in the Tools menu.

Why there is no NI VeriStand option in my Tools menu?

Solution

  • You must have the following software installed on your development machine:
    • NI VeriStand
    • LabVIEW
    • LabVIEW Application Builder
    • NI VeriStand LabVIEW Model Support
  • Make sure the versions of LabVIEW and VeriStand match. For example, both VeriStand and LabVIEW are both 2018 SP1, or both version 2017. LabVIEW and VeriStand versions can not be mismatched.
  • Also make sure that you use LabVIEW Development Environment in the correct bitness:
    • 2020 and older: 32-bit
    • 2021 and newer: 64-bit
  • Ensure VeriStand was installed after LabVIEW. This ensures VeriStand selects to install support for your version of LabVIEW. If this installation was not followed, reinstall NI VeriStand.
