Issue Details

My image is showing multiple grey, green, or black lines in NI-MAX or my LabVIEW application.

Solution

Lines in an image can be caused by a number of factors and listed below are a few potential solutions.

  • Make sure you have the most recent version of the Vision Acquisition Software compatible with your version of LabVIEW.
  • Be sure that your cable is in good condition, as this type of behavior can be seen in a damaged cable. You should use a CAT5 Ethernet Cable or higher.
  • Enable the High Performance Driver in your system.
  • Try a P2P network setup, so each GigE Vision Camera is directly connected to the computer.
  • Lower the DesiredPeakBandwidth to a lower value if you connect multiple cameras to the same network via a switch.
  • If you use the Snap functionality to get pictures from multiple cameras, try to add a delay between the Snap calls for different cameras.
  • This type of image problem can be due to packet loss. Check the settings described in Point 3 of Troubleshooting GigE Vision Cameras . You may also wish to make sure packet resends are enabled as shown in the picture below:
