Issue Details

How can I determine the type and version of my user-built National Instruments Installer?

Solution

You can determine type and version of your National Instruments Installer from properties of setup file of your Installer:
  • Find the executable file setup.exe in your distribution
  • Right-click on setup.exe and select Properties
  • Select Details tab. The version is listed next to the File version
Note: There are three types of NI Software Installers:
 
  1. NI MetaSuite Installer
    • These are installers for software suites that contain multiple NI software installers into one. For example, the LabVIEW Platform media.
  2. MetaInstaller
    • These are single product installers or our freely distributed drivers. For example, both the LabVIEW media and the NI Device Drivers media are type MetaInstaller.
  3. NI Package Installer
    • These are installers opened and run using NI Package Manager. Alternatively, you can download the software and install from the Browse Products tab with an internet connection.
