"No Supported Devices are Available" Error in Measurement Panel

Issue Details

My measurement panel reports an error claiming there are no supported devices available and the channel configuration is unavailable.


Measurement panels in LabVIEW NXG and DAQExpress are set by default to use a channel from the NI Simulated DAQ Device (SimDev1) that ships pre-configured in NI MAX starting with NI-DAQmx 17.0. 

The "No supported devices are available" error occurs when the NI Simulated DAQ device has been removed from the NI MAX configuration by either deleting the SimDev1 device or resetting the MAX configuration database. When no other simulated or real devices are configured, the measurement panels do not have a device to reference by default and throw this error.

The NI Simulated DAQ device can be restored by importing the default configuration file or any other configuration file that has the NI Simulated DAQ device.

For LabVIEW NXG-only users, the default configuration file can be found here:
