Issue Details

I can see my camera in Measurement and Automation Explorer, but when I attempt to connect to it the following error is shown

Solution

This error might be occurred because of two reasons.
  • IP settings of the camera
This error occurs when both the primary NIC on the controller and the accessory Gigabit Ethernet/Ethernet card possess IP addresses within the same subnet. To resolve this issue, modify the IP address of the Gigabit Ethernet/Ethernet card to an available address on a different subnet. Then, ensure that the camera IP address is also changed to the new subnet. This will allow you to successfully access the camera.

For example, if the camera is configured with a network address of 192.168.x.x, then the NIC must be configured with a similar network address of 192.168.y.y.  To reset the address on the interface, do the following:

  1. Open Network Connections.
  2. Right-click your Local Area Connection and select Properties.
  3. Select the General tab in the Properties window, and select “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”.
  4. Click the Properties button, and verify that “Obtain IP Address Automatically” is selected.
  5. Select the Alternate Configuration tab, and verify that “Automatic private IP address” is selected.
  6. Return to MAX. The camera should now appear in the configuration window
  • Wrong connection port
The second reason that could cause this error is wrong port connection. Refer to the device manual for providing correct connection.
