Issue Details

On page 4 of the device specifications, NI provides input stability calculations, but it is not clear to me how to interpret these. Should gain stability be interpreted on the output temperature, or on the measured resistance of the RTD? Is this stability of the measurement in response to the temperature of the sensor or of the PXIe-4357 module?

Solution

Offset and Gain stability are measured in reference to degrees C outside of the operating temperature of the module (found on pg 3). Since the operating temperature of the 4357 is 23 plus or minus 5 degrees Celsius, a 4357 module operating at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius will introduce a typical Offset stability of 200 microOhms (100 microOhms per degree Celsius outside of operating range).
