VST Not Recognized in NI MAX

Issue Details

I have PXIe-5840 or a PXIe-5841 and it is not recognized in NI MAX.

Solution

In order to have the VST recognized by NI MAX please do the following:
  1. Check if the necessary drivers are installed in MAX. You can do this by opening NI MAX and navigating to Software on the left hand side. Once expanding Software you should see NI-RFSA and NI-RFSG within a list of other NI software.
  2. Make sure the installed versions of NI-RFSA and NI-RFSG match the minimum required version for your hardware. You can check the minimum required version using the NI Hardware and Software Operating System Compatibility  page.
  3.  If the drivers are not installed or the version does not meet the required one, please download the drivers from the following links:
  1. Check the VST the correct slot, the needed slot can be verified on the corresponding Getting Started Guide, linked below.
  2. Restart your computer. 



 

Additional Information


One additional step you may try is to clear your MAX database. This will remove all of MAX's memory of any previously configured devices, including configurations that may be corrupt or conflicting with the VST.
