Issue Details

I have been having problems with my PXI(e) modules after installing them or uninstalling them into a PXI(e) chassis. What is the correct procedure for installing and uninstalling a PXI(e) module?

Solution

The correct procedure to install a PXI(e) module is the following:
  1. Power off your chassis and unplug the power cord.
  2. Identify a supported slot in the PXI/PXI Express chassis. Refer to the table below to determine what slots support your PXI module should use.
  3. Install a module into a chassis slot by first placing the module card edges into the front module guides (top and bottom). Slide the module to the rear of the chassis, making sure that the injector/ejector handle is pushed down.
  4. When you begin to feel resistance, push up on the injector/ejector handle to fully inject the module into the chassis frame. Secure the module front panel to the chassis using the module front-panel mounting screws.
The correct procedure to uninstall a PXI(e) module is the following:
  1. Power off your chassis and unplug the power cord.
  2. Unscrew the module front-panel mounting screws and push down the injector/ejector handle to eject the module from the chassis frame.
  3. Slide the module out of the chassis.
