Solution
NI FlexRay and CAN cards require the NI-XNET driver to function properly.
Troubleshooting steps vary depending on whether you're working with a Windows or Real-Time (RT) target, so please refer to the appropriate points accordingly.
- Ensure that you have a version of NI-XNET installed that supports your hardware (check the Readme).

- If you're using an NI-XNET module, try installing it in a different slot within the chassis to rule out slot-related issues.
- Re-install the NI-XNET driver, or upgrade and make sure the version still supports your LabVIEW version.
- If you upgrade the NI-XNET driver and the module appears, you may need to update the firmware of the module. You can accomplish this in MAX, by selecting your module and pressing Update Firmware.
- Disable the firewall or any software that could be preventing network communication.
- Try connecting different PC. If the other PC can detect the hardware, you may have to clean install Windows OS in your first PC or compare Windows registry entries to find difference.
- If the module still does not appear, reset the MAX database.
