Issue Details

I'm acquiring an image in LabVIEW and in NI MAX, but the images look different. The image acquired in LabVIEW shows the entire field of view, but the image in NI MAX only shows a portion of it. Why are the images different?

LabVIEW will often automatically scale displayed images so that the entire image fits in the display, while MAX will typically show the entire image with scroll bars on the right and bottom sides of the image display for navigation. Scaling in LabVIEW can be disabled by right-clicking the image display and unchecking the Zoom to Fit option. LabVIEW will now display the full image within the window with scrollbars, as it's displayed in NI MAX.

Additional Information

Image displays in LabVIEW do not affect the quality of the image. Images acquired by NI Vision drivers are comprised of a 1D or 2D array of pixel values. Displaying the image and scaling it have no affect on these pixel values, and are purely for the benefit of the user. The full array of pixel values is still passed through LabVIEW.
