NI VeriStand Scan Engine and EtherCAT CD Cannot Import Device Profile to Host Computer

Issue Details

Whenever I try to add a third-party EtherCAT slave into the "Scan Engine and EtherCAT" VeriStand custom device, I get the following error:
Host: The software cannot import the device profile

The profile is then found on the real-time target, but not on the host computer.

Solution

There is likely a permission issue that is preventing VeriStand from copying the xml file provided by the manufacturer to the correct location. To fix this, try manually adding the xml file to the following location :
C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\IndComECAT\DD

The profile should then be found on the host computer as well.

Additional Information

If you are still experiencing an issue, you should post on the Scan Engine and EtherCAT Custom Device Feedback forum for additional support.
