Solution
- Check to see which version of Windows operating system is running on your computer. You can check this by opening Run (Windows+R) and entering "winver".
- If it is Windows 10 version 1709 or later (as shown above), then the behavior is likely related to a known issue with the Xilinx Compile Tools for Vivado 2017.2 .
- Run NI Update Service and install the LabVIEW 2018 FPGA Module Patch for Vivado 2017.2 on Windows 10 1709.
- If your computer is not connected to the internet, you can install the patch by uninstalling the LabVIEW 2018 FPGA Module Compile Tools for Vivado 2017.2 completely, restarting your computer, and then reinstalling.
- After installing the patch, try compiling your FPGA VI with the local tools.
If you are still getting the error after installing the patch or your computer is running a version of Windows 10 older than 1709, contact NI Technical Support at ni.com/support.
In case this issue persists, as a temporary workaround, consider using NI's Cloud Compile Service to compile your FPGA code. Please check the following article for further information: Compile Faster with the LabVIEW FPGA Compile Cloud Service
