Issue Details

I am measuring a signal that, at steady state, is not of concern to me. However, I want to be able to log and record data once I have crossed a certain threshold. I have found a feature in DAQmx called Analog Edge triggering, but get an error in DAQExpress when I configure my device task to use this. The error states Requested value is not a supported value for this property. The property value may be invalid because it conflicts with another property.

Solution

This indicates that your device doesn't support analog edge triggering. If you require this functionality, you have two options moving forward:

  • You can purchase a cDAQ module that supports analog edge triggering with a one slot chassis.
  • You can implement post-processing in software to retrieve the waveform data and only log the data if it meets your criteria. There are many ways you can implement this. Refer to the related links to understand key concepts involved in this.
