PXI(e) Real Time Controller Displays Invalid System Disk

Issue Details

My PXI(e) Real Time controller when powered on throws a message "Invalid System Disk " on the monitor. How can I rectify this?


This is a indication of corrupted software on hard-disk. Follow the below steps :
  • Format the hard-disk using an external USB utility as mentioned in this link.
  • If the format doesn't help, swap the hard-disk with another from (same model) a working PXI(e) controller. Following this step, if the controller works properly, it reflects a bad hard-disk which has to be replaced.
  • If the problem persist or you don't have a spare hard-disk of a PXI(e) controller, contact NI support for further assistance.
