Enabling External Termination Resistors with PXI 8512 CAN Interface Device

Issue Details

I am planning add an external termination resistor for the NI PXI 8512 module. I would like to know if there are any on-board termination resistors available on the PXI 8512 module so that an external termination resistor can be avoided on my Device Under Test (DUT) design.

Solution

The NI-XNET CAN devices feature software selectable ob-board bus termination for High-Speed CAN transceivers. On the PXI-8512, PCI-8512, PCI-8513 (in high-speed mode), or PXI-8513 (in high-speed mode), you can enable 120 Ω termination resistors between CAN_H and CAN_L through an API call.
