Not Able to Click on Self-Test in NI MAX

Issue Details

• My DAQ device shows up in Windows Device Manager and in NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). However, I can't click on Self-Test either at the top of the window or in the right-click menu for my device.
• I can see my C series module on NI Measurement & Automation Explorer, but when I right click on it, the Self-Test option is grayed out.

Solution

• Self-Test is a function supported only by devices that support NI-DAQmx. There are some C series modules such as the NI-9381 that don't support DAQmx and therefore this option won't be available on NI MAX. Refer to Software Support for CompactRIO, CompactDAQ, Single-Board RIO, R Series, and EtherCAT to check what programming modes are supported by your device.
• Refresh NI MAX by selecting the device on NI MAX and clicking Refresh.

• Reset your device by clicking Reset, either at the top of the window (above) or in the right-click menu (below).

• Reset the NI MAX configuration data. Before performing this step, you may want to save your NI MAX System Configuration by exporting it.
