Activating or Transferring NI Software to New PCs

Issue Details

I am working on updating the test systems for my company, but I'm not sure whether I need to purchase new licenses. If I wanted to replace the existing PC with a newer PC, what I do I do to get the new PC activate?


As highlighted in the Help article Moving an Activated Product to Another Computer, all you need is the existing Serial Number of your current license to activate the new computer's software.

If you were to exceed the number of seats permitted in the NI Software License Agreement, you will need to deactivate the software on the computer you are retiring using the steps outlined in the KnowledgeBase article Deactivate or Remove License for NI Software and then activate the new computer using the guide Activating National Instruments Software Products
