MathScript Node Not Appearing in Structures Palette in LabVIEW

Updated May 27, 2024

Software

  • LabVIEW
  • LabVIEW MathScript Module

Issue Details

  • Where is the MathScript Node located in my functions palette?
  • I downloaded the LabVIEW MathScript RT Module but cannot see the MathScript Node in my functions palette.

Solution

The MathScript node is located in the Structures section of the functions palette when accessed from the block diagram.

If you do not see the MathScript node here, verify the following:
  1. Make sure your software is activated by going into NI License Manager, and checking that the circles next to the MathScript RT Module are green or yellow. If they are not green or yellow, see Activating NI Software Products to activate the MathScript RT Module.
  2. Make sure to install LabVIEW before MathScript RT Module. Review the document Installation Order for Multiple NI Software Products  for more information.
  3. Make sure that the bitness of the MathScript RT Module you have matches the bitness of your LabVIEW software. LabVIEW 64-bit does not support all of the toolkits supported by LabVIEW 32-bit. This support also varies by operating system. See LabVIEW 32-Bit vs. 64-Bit Applications FAQ  for more information. Make sure your OS is compatible with the MathScript RT Module, and make sure you are using 32-bit LabVIEW to see if the toolkit shows up there.

Additional Information

Note: NI no longer offers the LabVIEW MathScript Module, and it does not recommend LabVIEW MathScript Module functions for new designs. See www.ni.com/migratemathscript for information and recommended alternatives.
