LabWindows™/CVI™ 2013 Environment Does Not Launch Successfully

Issue Details

After lauching LabWindows/CVI 2013 on Windows 10, the icon appears in the task bar and in Task Manager under Processes, but the GUI does not appear. If I want to start the LabWindows/CVI environment, it does not start and I do not receive any error messages.

Solution

The first troubleshooting step is to use the compatibility charts available to determine whether or not the software is compitible with the operating system you are using. The supported operating systems for LabWindows/CVI show that for Windows 10, the earliest version available is LabWindows/CVI 2015. Therefore, you would need to get a later version of the software for it to run supported. 

If this does not solve the issue, confirm that the Windows Services are running as expected. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Within the Windows search bar, search for the Services app and open it as an administrator by right clicking and selecting Run as.
  2. Scroll to the NI services section
  3. If you notice that any services are not running (note: "NI Application Web Server" will either have the 32-bit or 64-bit service running, but not both) then do the following:
    1. Right click and select Properties
    2. Within properties, go to recovery
    3. As highlighted in the picture below, set all the recovery options to Restart the Service
