NI CompactRIO 20.0 driver introduced support for cRIOs in LabVIEW NXG 5.0. For more information and list of supported devices, refer to NI CompactRIO 20.0 Readme.

Issue Details

I can see my CompactRIO device in NI MAX and LabVIEW, however, I cannot see it in LabVIEW NXG.

Solution

1. Check your device is detected in NI-MAX. If not, follow the steps in the following link: CompactRIO C Series Modules Not Showing in NI Measurement & Automation Explorer. If you are connected locally to your PC, you can also try connecting your cRIO to the network through Ethernet connection.
2. Is your cRIO compatible with LabVIEW NXG? Refer to the readme linked above.
3. Check in NI-MAX that NI CompactRIO driver is installed
4. Verify that LabVIEW NXG FPGA and LabVIEW NXG Real-Time Modules are installed.
5. Add the device manually by selecting Add hardware in SystemDesigner and using the IP address as shown below :

6. If you have followed the steps above, try formating your cRIO: How to Restore LabVIEW RT Target to Factory Default Configuration

Additional Information

LabVIEW NXG 4.0 and older does not support the NI CompactRIO driver. This driver is necessary in order to communicate with CompactRIO devices.
