My Firewall Is Blocking Access to the NI Activation and Update Servers

Issue Details

  • I am trying to activate my NI products online through the NI Licensing Wizard. However, I receive the following message when trying to log in to my NI account through the NI Licensing Wizard:
  • I am trying to update my NI software however my firewall is blocking this.
  • Which URLs do I need to allow access through my firewall to fix this?


These problems occur because your computer is unable to reach the online National Instruments servers. In order to resolve these issues you must allow specific National Instruments URLs and their corresponding ports access through your firewall. This will allow communication to the National Instruments servers to take place.

If you cannot allow these URLs through your firewall, please use the NI Product Activation tool to generate offline activation codes or contact NI Technical Support.
