Issue Details

I would like to install the NI Compile Worker in a Linux machine to set up a Linux-based FPGA Compile Server. How can I install the software in the compile worker to be able to set up my system?

Solution

The NI Compile Worker is installed in a Linux-based machine once the Xilinx tools are installed in the system. This means that that every machine that is needed to be included in the compile farm should have the appropriate Xilinx tools installed for the compilation to be successful. To verify the version of Xilinx tools that is appropriate for your system, you can review the Compatibility between Xilinx Compilation Tools and NI FPGA Hardware  guide.

Additional Information

It is important to note that it is not possible to set a Compile Server in a Linux-based machine. This is because a Compile Server would need the NI Compile Farm Toolkit, and this software is not available for Linux. We recommend setting a compile server in a Windows machine, and having the compile workers in Linux-based machines.
