Issue Details

When trying to compile with LabVIEW FPGA or LabVIEW NXG FPGA, my compilation fails with the following error message.
LabVIEW FPGA: The compilation failed due to a Xilinx error.

Details:
ERROR: Could not find 64-bit executable.
ERROR: C:/NIFPGA/programs/Vivado2017_2/bin/unwrapped/win64.o/vivado.exe does not exist

Solution

This error can occur if the Vivado executable is removed from the system such as described in Xilinx AR# 72772. In that case, the Vivado executable was incorrectly flagged and removed by antivirus or malware protection software.
  • To confirm if this is the case check the file path given in the error to see whether or not vivado.exe is still present.
  • To resolve this error, restore the deleted file through a repair or reinstall of the LabVIEW FPGA Compilation Tool for Vivado.
  • If the issue occurs after this it is recommended that you work with your IT department to understand what is causing the file to be removed.
