Solution
You will not need any additional licenses to distribute your applications to a real-time target if you have purchased the NI SoftMotion Module 2009 or later. However, if the application will be deployed to a computer instead of a real-time target, it will be required to have additional licenses for the deployment computers. This follows the typical
software policy across most of the other software packages, with the main difference being that there isn't a separate run-time license for deployment on Windows machines so a separate license will be required in these cases.
The SoftMotion Development Module used to require a run-time license on the target machine prior to 2009. In 2009, the SoftMotion Development Module became the NI SoftMotion Module and from that point on no longer required a run-time engine license. The SoftMotion Run-Time Engine is now included in the NI SoftMotion Module. You cannot download it separately.
