Issue Details

I have successfully imported a Multisim design in LabVIEW and measured the voltages. However, when I try to measure current using a hierarchical IO connector, Multisim does not allow me to change terminal type from voltage to current. Is there any way to Import current values from Multisim to LabVIEW?

Solution

The hierarchical IO output terminal type in Multisim design for LabVIEW Multisim Co-Simulation can only be set to “Voltage”. However, for hierarchical IO input terminal type, the value can be set as either “Voltage” or “Current”.
A voltage difference across very low value shunt resistor in series (of the current path) can be used to estimate the current. However, this approach has draw back of slight error in voltage values at certain nodes in the circuit because of the implementation of voltage divider topology.
